Local band Honky Tonkitis announced today that hits on their website have exploded.
"It's so weird," singer Johnny Maplewood commented. "I skip updating our news page for three days and our hits jumped up fivefold."
Experts disagreed on the reasons for the sudden uptick.
"I'm no expert," accordionist Don Turner speculated, "but I'd say it's because our news usually sucks."
"Nothing good ever happens in our news. It's all just stupid stuff." drummer Kurt Weber added. "I know I checked out the website for the first time in months, knowing there was no new news. Yeah, I go there from time to time. I mean, how am I supposed to know when we're playing next?"
"Why can't we just post pictures of our food like other bands do?" guitarist Bruce Dean queried.
"I find the Bar Talk news to be informative and entertaining," fiddle player Larry Gääärd concluded, "but I'm the new guy in the band. I have to suck-up to the other guys for a few more months."
Honky Tonkitis performs this Friday night (8/23) at Kochanski's Concertina Beer Hall in Milwaukee.
